    Assistant Restaurant Manager Essential Duties & Responsibilities:

    • Train and manage staff.

    • Train staff with the proper technique of Sun Valley Resort Service Standards.
    • Possess an extensive knowledge of wines and how to best serve them, including knowledge of appropriate pairings.

    • Clearly and professionally communicate and cooperate with the dining room staff and the chef on duty, including sharing menu and reservation updates and ordering linens and additional supplies.

    Assistant Restaurant Manager Qualifications:

    • Must have comprehensive knowledge of and experience with restaurant and wine service. 
    • Minimum of 3 years of managerial/supervisory experience. 
    • Minimum of 5 years of practical restaurant service experience. 
    • Knowledge of/experience with daily financial aspects of restaurant management. 
    • They must have excellent customer service and supervisory skills.
    • A degree in a related field is preferred.

    Banquet Bartenders oversee bar operations and prepare and present alcoholic and nonalcoholic beverages to guests. We are looking for full-time and part-time employees.

     Duties and Responsibilities:   

    • Collect inventory for the event while keeping a detailed inventory. 
    • Collect and count bank from the Cashier’s Office and adequately account for gratuities received. 
    • Prepare the bar for operation and stock enough beverages to meet the needs of the shift. 
    • Maintain a clean, neat, and safe bar and lounge area. 
    • Prepare and serve drinks to guests and arrange bottles and glassware to make an attractive display. 
    • Learn and perfect the creation of the Sun Valley specialty cocktails.

    The Banquet Cook is responsible for the preparation of high-quality food in a timely, efficient, sanitary, and consistent manner.     The Setup Assistant Manager is responsible for assisting with the overall operations of the Banquet Setups department. This role will help oversee the setup of all contracted events on Sun Valley property. The goal is to provide 100% guest satisfaction with banquet events.

    Duties & Responsibilities:  

    • Manage the daily banquets and catering setup operations per established policies and procedures.

    • Upon arrival, greet and assist guests by helping unload luggage from a vehicle and transporting it to their room, personally carrying the bags, or using a luggage cart. 
    • Upon departure, assist guests by transporting luggage from the room to the lobby and helping them load bags into the vehicle.

    Sun Valley Resort seeks an Environmental Waste Specialist to help take our sustainability waste diversion program to the next level. This role is the backbone and driving force behind the recovery and circularity program. The Environmental Waste Specialist will ensure maximum landfill diversion throughout the resort. This position will work with the Sustainability Manager and be part of the grounds and operations team.

    Duties & Responsibilities:  

    • Be responsible for handling, sorting, and transporting large quantities of recyclable and compostable materials across the resort to staging areas and occasionally to Winn’s Composting and Ohio Gulch Recycling Facility.  
    • Coordinate timely recycling and food waste pickups with appropriate staff.
    • Maintain daily organization of recycling centers.
    • Assist the Sustainability Manager in managing the recycling centers around the resort. 
    • Work with the Sustainability Manager to train seasonal and year-round staff on waste diversion. 
    • Repair, maintain, and clean recycling receptacles throughout the year.  
    • Maintain guest-facing recycling receptacles.
    • Work with the Sustainability Manager on coordinating the recycling and compost programs.  
    • Assist with identifying sustainable product purchasing, and occasionally assist departments with trash removal in all base areas.
    • Ensure proper disposal of hazardous waste materials, including oil and oil contamination, electronics, refrigerants, etc.

    Qualifications:

    • A four-year college degree or equivalent work experience within hospitality or similar industry.
